One of my earliest memories about photography dates back to the mid '70s. My father was interested in photography and took some wonderful 35mm B&W photos that he developed himself. I loved to watch the appearing photos taking shape on the photo paper. Not much later, I got my first camera and the journey began. In school I shot a lot of photos on class trips and developed a keen interest in photography. I even had bad dreams that I was on a trip and forgot my camera at home, I’ve packed very carefully since then. Fast forward to the 21st century... After a few film SLR cameras, I bought my first digital camera around the Millennium. At that time, the quality of digital photos was far from the quality of film, but it had a bright future. I liked the idea of the instant feedback and that photos were easy to edit, store and print. It was at that time that my two hobbies, computers and photography finally met. During the past years I have taken thousands of photographs on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. The photos that I selected for these galleries - for different reasons - are my favorites. Hopefully, from now on some will be yours too. While most of the photos were taken in the Ocean City, MD area, the rest of them are from my travels to Georgia, Kentucky, South Carolina, New York and West Virginia. I have great memories about these places; I can only encourage you to visit them. At the moment I use Olympus DSLRs with Zuiko lenses. For me this camera system provides the perfect size and quality while producing some fantastic "Oly colors". Other than small cropping, I try to keep the images as original as possible. I am not a professional photographer. In fact, I try to keep it on the hobby level. It is more fun this way and I never get bored or frustrated about it. If I sell a picture the amount goes to the "Photo Gear Fund".
